Berufsportrait Kneipenwirtin

Sonja Obermeier is the owner of an Inn, namely the old Klinglwirt , she grew up in Weidach. The Bavarian tavern culture she has known from the cradle, Sonja grew up immersed in the tavern life.

Despite, or perhaps because of it, Sonja chose an entirely different path in life. Initially she studied a few semesters of Social work, broke off these studies, then she studied tourism management and left the University of Munich with a diploma in business administration (FH). However after qualifying Sonja followed another calling, the salvation of the world’s climate. She worked for two years as a consultant in the field of climate protection.

It was during this time that the strong desire began to grow in Sonja, to build a sustainable and climate-friendly company, rather than trying to convert others. After considerable research she decided to open her version of the Klinglwirt. Her vision was of a Bavarian inn, as she had known it from her childhood but in the city centre, using climate-friendly methods, fresh and naturally produced products. Art.

On the 26th of August 2011 her vision became a reality and Sonja Obermeier unlocked the doors to her Klinglwirt in Haidhausen. Sonja also advises others interested in setting up restaurants using the same principles as she did herself. She is also invited to give lectures at universities and at times provides a consultancy service on starting up a business in sustainable gastrononomy. However Sonja’s main position in life is as the hostess in the Klinglwirt, advising guests on their choice of wine & food from the menu. If you want to benefit from her excellent advice and enjoy watching the evening play out, join us in the Klinglwirt!
